Illegal Alien in Greene County Gets Life for Murder of Co-Worker
GREENSBORO, Ga. – Dimas Sanchez Ruiz, 41, has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to malice murder in the Superior Court of Greene County. Ruiz, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, admitted to killing his co-worker, Rod-driez Tripp, on April 4, 2025.
According to court records, Ruiz shot Tripp twice in the chest with a 9mm pistol while both were working at Plantation Quail. After the shooting, authorities found Ruiz in the parking lot smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer, appearing to wait for law enforcement to arrive. Ruiz later confessed, stating that he had shot Tripp because he felt Tripp was picking on him.
The Greene County District Attorney’s Office expressed condolences to the victim’s family and thanked the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and other law enforcement agencies involved in the case.
