Former Richmond Hill Police Sergeant Indicted in Bribery and Sexual Misconduct Case
A Bryan County grand jury has indicted a former Richmond Hill Police Department sergeant on charges of bribery, violation of oath by a public officer, and making false statements.
The indictment stems from a June 2025 investigation launched after the Richmond Hill Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The department initiated an internal review on June 21 after a report accused 56-year-old Robert Edward Littlejohn of sexual misconduct. Details uncovered during that inquiry led the department to bring in state investigators.
According to the GBI, the victim had previously been arrested by Richmond Hill Police on unrelated charges. After the victim was released from jail, Littlejohn allegedly contacted them and offered to help get those charges dismissed in exchange for sexual favors.
Littlejohn turned himself in to the Bryan County Jail on November 14.
The GBI has completed its investigation, and the case has been turned over to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
