Original Post:

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding 36-year-old James Dustin Cribbs, who is wanted in connection with several auto thefts and a burglary in the county. Cribbs is described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.

Deputies say community frustration has grown in recent weeks, with some residents describing Cribbs as a menace due to his ongoing involvement in theft-related crimes.

Investigators recently obtained surveillance footage from the Jameson Inn Motel in Douglas that shows Cribbs driving a white GMC truck that had been reported stolen. In the video, he appears to spray-paint over the truck’s front license plate, which deputies believe was an effort to avoid being identified. The vehicle was later found and recovered on Thursday.

Sheriff Fred Cole urged anyone with information to come forward, noting that even small details might help detectives track Cribbs down and take him into custody.

Anyone who knows where Cribbs may be is asked to contact CCSO Detectives at 912-384-4227. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office mobile app.
