Rekindled Fire Destroys Flowery Branch Home, Two Displaced

A Hall County home was destroyed after a fire rekindled Tuesday morning, less than 12 hours after the first blaze broke out Monday night in Flowery Branch.

According to Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR), crews responded around 7:30 p.m. on November 10 to a residential fire with heavy flames coming from the attic and roof. With no nearby hydrants, firefighters had to shuttle water to the scene, working quickly to bring the fire under control from inside the structure.

Two adults were displaced as a result of the fire, which left the home a total loss.

Around 8:00 a.m. the next morning, HCFR was called back to the same address after the fire rekindled. Crews found what remained of the home fully engulfed, likely fueled by wind gusts of up to 20 mph. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly.

The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the initial fire and the rekindle.
