Athens-Clarke County Police investigating death of 22-year-old man

ATHENS, Ga. – On November 6, 2025, at approximately 8:16 p.m., Athens-Clarke County Police responded to a person down call in the 100 block of Madison Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old male from Winterville, Georgia, lying on the sidewalk. Emergency Medical Services and the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but the victim sadly died at the scene.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
