Clayton County Man Convicted of 2023 Killing After Nine-Month Fugitive Hunt
Clayton County, GA – Victor Langston has been convicted by a Clayton County jury on multiple charges, including two counts of Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
The charges stem from the August 4, 2023, killing of Jeffrey Ruffin, Jr., who was shot eleven times following a brief argument. Langston fled the scene with key evidence and remained at large for nine months before being apprehended by the Clayton County Fugitive Task Force.
The trial, led by Senior Assistant District Attorney Anyssa Williams with assistance from Assistant District Attorney Anthony McKee, began on October 20, 2025. Key contributions to the prosecution also came from Investigator Michael Hooks and Victim Advocate Terrylynn Stevenson. The jury returned a guilty verdict on October 23, 2025.
Judge Danielle Roberts sentenced Langston to life in prison, plus 15 years of probation.
District Attorney Tasha M. Mosley said, “There is no justification for the senseless act of violence that occurred in 2023. We hope this conviction brings a measure of comfort and healing to the family and friends of Mr. Jeffrey Ruffin, Jr.”
