3rd Conviction: Perry Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Trafficking and Molestation of 13-Year-Old

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – Attorney General Chris Carr today announced that Brian Smith, 43, of Perry, has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for the trafficking and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Houston County.

Smith is the third defendant convicted in this extensive human trafficking case. On October 9, 2025, he pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Two counts of Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude
  • One count of Aggravated Child Molestation
  • One count of Statutory Rape

Smith was sentenced to 25 years, with the first five years to be served in prison and the remainder on strict probation. He is also required to register as a sex offender.

Multi-Defendant Human Trafficking Case

The investigation by the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit began after the child disclosed in 2020 that she was sold for sex in Warner Robins.

Attorney General Carr stated, “Another predator is off our streets and behind bars thanks to the dedicated efforts of our Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit. With each new conviction, we will continue to send a strong message that Georgia’s children are not for sale.”

Previous Convictions

  • Emma-Lee Garcia (Indicted Nov. 2024), who posted online advertisements selling the child for sex and harbored her, was convicted in May 2025 of five counts of Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude. She was sentenced to 40 years, with 18 years to be served in prison.
  • Noe Borromeo Hernandez (Indicted Nov. 2024), a Mexican national, pleaded guilty in August 2025 to Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude, two counts of Child Molestation, and Statutory Rape. He was sentenced to 25 years, with 10 years to be served in prison, and is expected to be deported after his sentence due to an ICE detainer.

The State’s case against a fourth defendant, Demaria Williams, indicted in May 2025, is ongoing.
