Billy Trey Bonner

CARROLLTON, Ga.Billy Trey Bonner, 30, of Carrollton, entered a guilty plea on October 8, 2025, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with the first 13 years to be served in the state penal system.

The sentencing, handed down by the Honorable Judge Dennis Blackmon, followed Bonner’s plea to charges including:

  • Child Molestation
  • Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony
  • False Imprisonment
  • Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes

The case began on June 10, 2024, when Carrollton Police officers responded to a sexual assault report involving a 13-year-old female. A subsequent forensic interview conducted at the West Georgia Child Advocacy Center revealed evidence of on-going abuse over several years.

During his interview with police, Bonner made admissions and confessions to the crimes, which included using intimidation tactics in an effort to keep the victim silent.

The investigation was led by Detective Brandon Wilson with the Carrollton Police Department. The case was successfully prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Wade Mason and Senior Assistant District Attorney Jared Parrish.
