Arrest Made in Savannah’s Wells Fargo Bank Robbery
Savannah, GA — The Chatham County Police Department has identified and arrested a suspect in connection with a bank robbery that occurred Friday afternoon.
Just before 3:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located in The Landings community of Savannah, GA. Upon arrival, officers gathered suspect and vehicle information, which was quickly shared with surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Detectives with the Chatham County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the FBI responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. A short time later, a potential suspect vehicle was located in the Pooler Parkway area. A Pooler Police Department officer and a Chatham County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop, detaining the suspected robber.
36-year-old Sudre Alexandre Lesperance has been arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. He will be booked into the Chatham County Detention Center.
