Perry Police Issue Warrant in Ongoing Lewd Phone Call Investigation
On August 28, 2025, an employee at a Perry business received a disturbing phone call from an unknown male making vulgar sexual comments and performing lewd acts during the call.
Detectives from the Perry Police Department traced the phone number and obtained a search warrant for the associated records. With assistance from the Upson County Sheriff’s Office, officers executed a warrant at a Thomaston residence, recovering the phone used to make the calls from Michael Antwoine Hammond.
Investigators determined the incident was not isolated. The same phone number has been used to contact multiple businesses in Warner Robins, GA, Newnan, GA, and Horry County, SC.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Hammond. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
Anyone with information or who received similar calls is asked to contact Detective Ike Wilcox at 478-988-2848 or john.wilcox@perry-ga.gov, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 478-742-2330 or 1-877-68CRIME.
