Carrollton Man Arrested for Online Exploitation of a Child in Multi-State Investigation

CARROLLTON, Ga.—A joint investigation between the Carrollton Police Department’s Cyber Crime Unit and the Madison Police Department in Indiana has led to the arrest of a Carrollton man on charges related to the online exploitation of a child under the age of 10.

Jonathan Leak, 24, was taken into custody on October 21, 2025.

The investigation began when Madison, Indiana detectives contacted Carrollton for assistance after discovering that a Carrollton man had been communicating with the young victim online and that sexually explicit images were exchanged through a social media platform.

Investigators from both agencies secured arrest warrants after gathering sufficient evidence. Leak now faces charges in both states:

  • Felony Child Exploitation (Indiana)
  • Felony Child Pornography/Exploitation (Carrollton, GA)
  • Misdemeanor Furnishing Obscene Material to a Minor (Carrollton, GA)

The Carrollton Police Department, a partner of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, expressed gratitude for the strong teamwork that led to the arrest.
