Two Illegal Guatemalans Arrested in Georgia for Rape and Solicitation
FORT VALLEY, Ga.—Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced the arrests of Virgilio Gabriel Vasquez, 38, and Napoleon Hernandez Gomez, 38, both from Guatemala and illegally residing in the U.S., for the trafficking and sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old female in Peach County.
The arrests were made on September 26 by the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit, assisted by the Fort Valley Police Department, Peach County Sheriff’s Office, Byron Police Department, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Specific Allegations:
- Virgilio Gabriel Vasquez is alleged to have arranged for the victim, also from Guatemala, to perform commercial sex acts with Gomez in exchange for money.
- Napoleon Hernandez Gomez is charged with soliciting the minor for sexual servitude, as well as Rape and Child Molestation.
Attorney General Carr issued a firm statement, saying, “Our message is clear: if you abuse or exploit a child in this state, we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”
