Driver Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run on Terrell Mill Road in Cobb County

MARIETTA, GA – The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Monday evening, October 20, 2025, on Terrell Mill Road.

Investigators say a 36-year-old Marietta man was crossing Terrell Mill Road north of Bentley Road around 7:12 p.m. when he was struck by a gray 2014 Ford Escape traveling southbound in the center turn lane. The victim was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.

The driver of the Ford Escape fled the scene after the collision. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Through the investigation, officers identified the suspected driver as a 28-year-old man from Marietta. He was located at his residence by Cobb County Police Uniform Patrol Officers, taken into custody, and charged with felony hit-and-run, driving while license suspended, and a center turn lane violation.
