Tennessee Woman Arrested for Barnesville Murder of 85-year-old

Lamar County, GA – October 8, 2025 – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested Laquinda Shandrell Moreland, 36, of Knoxville, TN, in connection with the death of Charles Raymond Tice, 85, of Barnesville, GA.

Moreland has been charged with Murder, Concealing the Death of Another Person, and False Statements.

The investigation began on April 2, 2025, when the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI assistance in a missing persons case. Tice had been missing since March 2025, and his remains were discovered in Lamar County on April 5, 2025.

Moreland was arrested in Griffin, GA, and is currently booked at the Lamar County Jail. The investigation remains active.
