Man Arrested in Connection with Jones County Shooting

Jones County, GA – Deputies with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a person shot on Morris Stevens Road Thursday afternoon.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that the suspect, identified as Kenneth Kitchens Jr., had fled the scene and was possibly traveling toward Wilkinson County.

Working closely with the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Gordon Police Department, deputies were able to locate and arrest Kitchens without further incident. He has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and remains in custody.

The victim was transported by EMS to Atrium Health Navicent, where they are listed in stable condition.
