GBI Investigates Suspicious Death in Liberty County

WALTHOURVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has launched an investigation into the death of 38-year-old Marissa Taylor of Walthourville at the request of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.
According to preliminary information, deputies responded to a home in the Coastal Woods Mobile Home Park off Shaw Road around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, after a 911 call reported a death. When officers arrived, they discovered Taylor’s body inside the residence.
Investigators say foul play is suspected. Taylor’s body will be transported to the Coastal Crime Lab in Pooler for an autopsy.
