Valdosta Man Arrested After Stabbing Stepfather at Apartment Complex

VALDOSTA, GA – A Valdosta man is in custody after police determined he repeatedly stabbed his stepfather during an altercation Thursday night.

On September 25, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Valdosta Police Officers responded to The Grand at Lake Sheri Apartments on Baytree Road after a woman called 911 reporting her husband was bleeding and unresponsive.

When officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old male on the floor of an apartment, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso. Officers immediately began first aid until Valdosta Fire and South Georgia Medical Center EMS arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

According to investigators, those at the scene gave officers conflicting stories about how the man was injured. Officers quickly noticed the injuries did not match the accounts provided and detained the apartment’s occupants while detectives and crime scene personnel responded.

Detectives later determined that the victim’s stepson, Jvonni Roblejo, 24, was responsible. Investigators say Roblejo stabbed the victim several times during an argument inside the apartment. He was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail, charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

“This is outstanding work by our staff,” said Police Chief Leslie Manahan. “When the responding officers recognized that the injuries did not match any of the stories they had been provided, they immediately secured the scene for our detectives and crime scene personnel to complete the investigation. Our staff had already had a long and stressful day, but they put another major incident aside and worked tirelessly to help this victim receive justice.”
