Bibb County Deputy Arrests Driver Following Pursuit and Crash

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joshua Benfield recently apprehended a driver after a pursuit ended in a crash on Pio Nono Avenue at Dewy Street.

The incident began when Deputy Benfield attempted a traffic stop on a Ford Windstar after discovering that the vehicle’s license plate did not match the car it was attached to. Rather than complying, the driver accelerated away, leading to a crash.

The male driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. He faces multiple charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer (felony), driving while unlicensed, no insurance, removing/affixing a tag with intent to conceal vehicle identity, expired license plate, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
