Barnesville Homicide: GBI Seeks Information Following Fatal Shooting

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is probing a fatal shooting in Barnesville, Lamar County, following the death of 41-year-old Deondrey Florence.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., a 911 call reported shots fired near the 200 block of Southland Drive. (Arbor Trace Apartments) Responding officers found Florence deceased at the scene.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Once the investigation is concluded, the findings will be submitted to the Towaliga District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
