Stephens County deputies, working with Franklin County authorities and state agencies, captured wanted fugitive Clinton Patrick Miller, 48, of Toccoa, on Monday morning, September 15.

Deputies responded around 7 a.m. to a 911 call reporting Miller near a church on Mize Road close to Highway 106. When deputies located him on West Silver Shoals Road, Miller attempted to flee but was caught after a brief foot chase.

Miller was turned over to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, where he faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail.

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office has also filed a detainer and plans to transfer Miller at a later date to face local charges, which include three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal attempt to commit burglary, and six counts of criminal trespass connected to a string of storage unit thefts on Mize Road in June.

In addition, deputies say Miller will face further charges for obstruction, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana. When he was arrested, Miller was carrying a container with three baggies of methamphetamine and less than one ounce of marijuana.

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office thanked concerned citizens who shared information leading to Miller’s capture, along with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and Georgia Department of Natural Resources for their assistance in the operation.
