New Affordable Housing Development ‘Tindall Fields’ Announced in Macon-Bibb

Macon-Bibb County – Investment Group Development (IGD) has announced Tindall Fields, a new housing project aimed at expanding affordable housing options for families in Macon-Bibb. The initiative is supported by the Macon-Bibb County Affordable Housing Fund and the Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority, transforming historically underutilized property into a walkable, service-connected neighborhood.
Tindall Fields will include the renovation of one single-family home and the construction of 10 new, modern, energy-efficient single-family homes. The development is strategically located near schools, transit, employment centers, and healthcare facilities, helping families establish long-term stability while advancing regional housing goals.
Natalie Bouyett, Director of the Macon-Bibb County Affordable Housing Fund, said, “Tindall Fields is about access and opportunity. By pairing quality homes with supportive partnerships, we’re helping families put down roots and thrive right here in Macon-Bibb.”
Allen Wells of Investment Group Development added, “From day one, our focus has been simple: deliver affordability without compromise. Together with the Affordable Housing Fund and the Land Bank Authority, we’re unlocking land for the community’s highest and best use and aligning resources to keep monthly housing costs within reach.”
Everett Verner, Executive Director of the Land Bank Authority, emphasized the importance of strategic land use, stating, “Reactivating strategic parcels to meet today’s needs is core to the Land Bank’s mission. Tindall Fields shows what’s possible when public and private partners move in the same direction.”
Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller highlighted the community impact, saying, “Tindall Fields represents a meaningful step forward in ensuring that every family in Macon-Bibb has access to safe, affordable, and modern housing. By transforming underutilized land into a vibrant, connected neighborhood, we are not only creating homes but also fostering stability, opportunity, and long-term investment in our community.”
The Land Bank Authority is providing the properties for the project, while the Affordable Housing Fund is supporting the initiative with a $500,000 renewable line of credit. In addition, the fund has committed $2 million to leverage $16 million for affordable housing in the Historic Pleasant Hill Neighborhood and is providing $325,000 in a loan for Habitat for Humanity to support three additional single-family homes.
Tindall Fields marks a significant step forward in Macon-Bibb’s ongoing effort to provide affordable, quality housing and create neighborhoods where families can thrive.
