Columbus Police Bust Fraud and Firearms Case, Three Arrested

Columbus, GA – An investigation by the Columbus Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit has led to the arrest of three individuals after detectives uncovered fraudulent activity, drugs, and a stolen firearm.
Arrested:
- Deshaun Peralta, 20 – Financial Transaction Card Theft, Financial Transaction Card Fraud (x2), Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Theft by Receiving (Firearm)
- Tyrese Galloway, 17 – Theft by Receiving (Firearm)
- Yasmin Peralta, 40 – Theft by Receiving (Firearm)
Detectives began investigating after receiving reports of fraudulent bank card activity. Their investigation revealed that Deshaun Peralta, employed as a server at Longhorn Steakhouse on Macon Road, had been photographing customer bank cards during transactions and using the stolen information to funnel thousands of dollars for personal use.
On September 9, 2025, officers executed a search warrant at Peralta’s residence, where they recovered:
- A money counter
- 47.2 grams of marijuana
- Several cell phones
- An AR-15 rifle reported stolen
Peralta, along with his brother and mother, was taken into custody. Police say additional victims have already been identified and more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
