Atlanta Police Fatally Shoot Armed Suspect Outside Four Seasons Hotel

Atlanta, GA – Just after midnight on September 10, 2025, Atlanta police officers responded to a person armed call at the Four Seasons Hotel on 14th Street NE.
When officers arrived at the scene, they immediately encountered the armed suspect in front of the hotel. Police say the man fled toward the hotel’s parking garage while ignoring multiple loud verbal commands to drop his weapon.
According to investigators, the suspect refused to comply, turned around and walked back towards the officers. Officers continued to give the man commands, which he did not follow. The man then moved his hand towards his handgun on his side, prompting officers to discharge their firearms, striking him. Officers rendered aid until Grady EMS arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A handgun was located on scene near the suspect.
No officers were injured during the incident. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken the lead in the case, as is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
