Deadly Shooting in Eastman Under GBI Investigation, Homeowner Claims Self-Defense
Eastman, GA – At the request of the Eastman Police Department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating the death of 45-year-old Terrance Travis Gordon of Eastman.
Just after midnight on Sunday, September 7, 2025, Eastman Police responded to reports of a shooting near 1st Avenue and King Street. When officers arrived, they found Gordon suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Dodge County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the preliminary investigation, Gordon was walking along 1st Avenue while firing a gun. He then approached a home and made threats toward the occupants. An exchange of gunfire followed between Gordon and the homeowner. Both men were wounded. The homeowner was treated and released from the hospital.
The homeowner has claimed self-defense, and at this time no arrests have been made. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
