Man Arrested After Road Rage Shooting in Walton County

On Friday, September 5, 2025, deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a road rage shooting near Youth Jersey Road and Maughon Road in Covington.

According to investigators, Orrion Hill fired a gunshot through the front windshield of another driver’s vehicle. The victim was not injured, and Hill fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault, and investigators with the Walton County and Newton County Sheriff’s Offices executed search warrants at Hill’s home and car, where they discovered additional evidence.

A BOLO alert was issued to surrounding counties, and later that same day, Hill was located in Coweta County. With assistance from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Hill was arrested within hours of the shooting.

Authorities credited strong interagency cooperation for the swift arrest. Hill remains in custody, facing charges in Walton County.
