Second Suspect Arrested in Albany Teen Shooting Investigation
Isaiah Holsey

ALBANY, GA – Police have arrested a second suspect connected to the September 1 shooting that left a 14-year-old injured on Morningside Drive.

On September 4, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., officers with the Albany Police Department responded to the 600 block of Moultrie Road after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle. Shortly after, officers spotted the vehicle returning to the residence.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Isaiah Holsey, exited the car and attempted to run from officers. Following a brief foot chase, he was apprehended and found in possession of a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun.

Holsey was booked into the Dougherty County Jail on an active Aggravated Assault warrant tied to the September 1 shooting. He also faces new charges of Theft by Taking (Motor Vehicle) and a firearm violation.

Investigators had previously identified Holsey as one of two suspects in the shooting on the 80 block of Morningside Drive, where a 14-year-old boy was shot in the chest and arm. The teen was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Police said the victim and the suspects had arrived together at the residence before a brief conversation outside turned violent. One suspect opened fire, hitting the victim multiple times, before both fled the scene.

A 16-year-old male was already taken into custody earlier in connection with the case.

The investigation remains active. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Albany Police Department at 229-431-2100 or Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
