ALBANY, Ga.—Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 28, leaving two victims injured.

On Tuesday, September 2, Albany Police Department investigators, with assistance from the SWAT Team, executed two high-risk search and arrest warrants.

At a residence in the 600 block of Wadkins Avenue, Stevie Richardson, 17, was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Investigators determined that Richardson used his mother’s vehicle and coordinated the incident with another suspect, Sy’terrious Thomas. Evidence from Richardson’s phone and surveillance footage further connected him to the crime.

At a residence in the 500 block of Willard Avenue, investigators arrested Sy’terrious Thomas, 18, on similar charges. A stolen Palmetto handgun was recovered from the residence, leading to an additional charge of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

Both Richardson and Thomas were transported to the Dougherty County Jail. The victims of the shooting were identified as Mochavious Dowell and a 16-year-old juvenile. The Albany Police Department thanked the community and partner agencies for their assistance.
