Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Fatal Macon Shooting at Family Dollar

MACON, Ga.—The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of shooting and killing a woman and critically injuring a man outside a Family Dollar on Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., deputies responded to a call at the Family Dollar on Jeffersonville Road. They found a 56-year-old female in a Nissan Rogue who was unresponsive from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. A 79-year-old male was also in the vehicle with a gunshot wound and was transported to a medical facility in critical condition.
Investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation following a prior motor vehicle collision.
The suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Catrell Tywan Ford. He is described as a bald, Black male, 5’6″ tall, and approximately 190 pounds. Ford was last seen near Lancing Lane and is considered armed and dangerous.
