Reckless Motorcyclist Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Macon

MACON, Ga.—A man was arrested on multiple charges after a high-speed chase that ended with him crashing his motorcycle and being found in a cluster of trees.
According to a report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Joshua Benfield attempted to stop a motorcycle that was driving recklessly through downtown Macon. The driver, whose name has not been released, fled and reached speeds of over 130 mph before losing control on a curve on Thomaston Road.
The driver was thrown from the bike and located in nearby trees. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then booked into the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. He was found to be driving under the influence and on a revoked license.
