Savannah Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery and Kidnapping in Rideshare Incident

The Savannah Police Department has arrested 31-year-old Bryan David Smith in connection with an aggravated battery and kidnapping incident that occurred on August 9, 2025.
Police responded around 7:00 a.m. to St. Joseph’s Hospital after an adult female victim reported being assaulted. Investigators learned that Smith was the victim’s rideshare driver and that the incident occurred in the 11900 block of Apache Avenue. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
On August 18, Smith was charged with criminal attempt (rape), aggravated battery, kidnapping, and robbery by sudden snatching.
