Columbus Man Arrested in Major Meth and Gun Bust Following Joint Police and ATF Investigation

On August 7, 2025, Joshua Alexander, 34, was arrested after a months-long joint investigation by the Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Investigators executed a search warrant that led to the seizure of 3,428.2 grams of methamphetamine valued at approximately $154,269, 23.3 grams of cocaine worth $1,165, $2,450 in cash, and a Springfield XD 9mm firearm.

Alexander faces multiple charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, altered firearm identification, possession of drug-related objects, and misdemeanor obstruction.

The Columbus Police Department thanked the ATF for their partnership in efforts to remove illegal drugs and firearms from the community.
