23-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Collision on Columbus Road in Macon

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred Thursday morning on Columbus Road near the intersection of Columbus West Drive.

The accident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just before 9:00 a.m. on August 7th. According to officials, a motorist driving a Ford minivan was heading west on Columbus Road and was attempting to turn into a local business when it collided with an eastbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, identified as 23-year-old Joseph Bradley Parham, was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones confirmed that next of kin has been notified.

All lanes of Columbus Road have since reopened. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with a Fatality Investigator.
