Month-Long Investigation Leads to Meth, Gun Seizures in Towns County

TOWNS COUNTY, GA – A month-long drug activity investigation led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a large amount of methamphetamine and weapons after a traffic stop on Saturday, August 2nd.

Towns County Sheriff’s Drug Investigators and K-9 unit Dargo conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 and Highway 76. Probable cause was developed, and a search of the vehicle uncovered a large amount of methamphetamine, which field-tested positive, along with weapons.

The occupants, identified as Brandon Taylor, 30, and Kimberly Jo Allison, 42, both of Hayesville, NC, were arrested.

Allison was charged with:

  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
  • Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • Felony Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime
  • Misdemeanor Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects

Taylor was charged with:

  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
  • Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • Felony Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime
  • Felony Receipt, Possession or Transport of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Misdemeanor Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects

Following the arrests, investigators from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office presented probable cause to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, which issued and executed a search warrant on the suspects’ Town Mountain Road residence. The search resulted in the confiscation of another large amount of methamphetamine, along with additional weapons and drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Henderson expressed pride in the collaboration with other agencies to combat drug activity in the area.
