Teen Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Stolen Car in Macon-Bibb County

MACON-BIBB COUNTY, GA – A 16-year-old driver was arrested by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office after a high-speed pursuit in a stolen Kia Soul. The chase, which reached speeds of over 100 mph, began on Ga. Highway 247 as the vehicle entered Macon-Bibb County.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit and K-9 Interdiction Unit initiated the traffic stop. After a brief pursuit, the driver was forced to a stop. Three occupants fled the vehicle on foot, and the teenage driver, who did not have a license, was taken into custody.
Deputies also found a firearm next to the vehicle, which is believed to have been discarded during the foot chase. The teen faces several charges, including Felony Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Motor Vehicle), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18, and Driving Without a License.
