Man Shot by Police After Firing at Officers and Setting Shed on Fire in Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, GA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, August 3, 2025, in Warner Robins, Houston County.

At approximately 2:37 a.m., Warner Robins Police Department officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 100 block of Louis Street. Upon arrival, officers approached a small storage shed behind the residence and encountered 46-year-old Jesus Chavez-Ledesma, who was armed with a gun and identified as being involved in the domestic incident.

Chavez-Ledesma fired at officers and barricaded himself inside the shed. During the standoff, he set the shed on fire and continued shooting at law enforcement. An officer returned fire, striking Chavez-Ledesma. Officers rendered aid on the scene, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive.

No officers were injured in the incident. Warner Robins Fire Department units extinguished the fire.

The GBI continues to investigate. Upon completion, the case will be turned over to the Houston County District Attorney’s Office for review.
