Two Macon Residents Arrested on Meth Charges During Separate Jones County Traffic Stops

JONES COUNTY, GA – On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Jones County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two individuals from Macon, Georgia, on drug-related charges during separate traffic stops on Griswoldville Road.
In the first incident, investigators stopped a vehicle and identified the driver as 43-year-old Billy Joe Deason, who had outstanding warrants from Bleckley County for Violation of Probation stemming from previous charges including Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. During the stop, deputies located a quantity of methamphetamine in the vehicle. Deason was taken into custody and additionally charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
In a separate traffic stop on the same day, deputies arrested 51-year-old Erin Taylor, who was a front-seat passenger in another vehicle pulled over for a traffic violation. Taylor had active warrants out of Houston County for Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Methamphetamine. While being detained, she allegedly attempted to hide or destroy a bag of methamphetamine. Deputies recovered the drugs, and Taylor now faces an additional charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.
Both suspects were booked into the Jones County Jail. Investigators Hall, Lt. Carr, Deputy Nolan Sullivan, and Dan Ribiero were credited with the arrests.
