Stolen Truck Pursuit Ends with Arrest in Camden County After Multi-Agency Response

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — A high-speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended with the suspect’s arrest Monday afternoon after deputies and multiple agencies coordinated to stop a black GMC truck that fled from law enforcement across multiple counties.

The Camden County E-911 Center received notification at approximately 12:06 p.m. on July 28 from the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office that a vehicle had fled a pursuit in Nassau County, Florida, and was heading toward Highway 40. The truck was confirmed to be stolen.

At 12:17 p.m., a Camden County Deputy located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit that included dangerous maneuvers such as swerving into oncoming traffic and driving off-road into wooded areas.

Kingsland Police deployed spike strips to disable the vehicle, but the driver continued to flee. The suspect attempted to ram a K9 deputy’s vehicle, prompting a deputy to fire at the truck’s tires to end the chase. The vehicle was disabled, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Camden County Fire Rescue, EMS, and Kingsland Fire Rescue responded. The suspect was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. No deputies, civilians, or K9 personnel were injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
