Meth, Fentanyl, and Firearms Seized in Clarke County Drug Bust

ATHENS, Ga. — A search warrant executed at a residence on Smokey Road in Athens-Clarke County on July 9, 2025, led to the seizure of multiple firearms and a significant quantity of illegal drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office initiated the investigation following three failed attempts to execute an arrest warrant and growing suspicions of drug sales and use at the home. After obtaining a signed search warrant, deputies from multiple divisions served it without incident.

Several individuals present at the residence were detained and questioned. During the search, deputies discovered over 65 grams of crystal meth, a separate bag of powdered meth, bags of marijuana and fentanyl, and various drug paraphernalia commonly used for distribution.

Field drug tests confirmed the substances, and all seized items will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for further analysis. The investigation remains ongoing.
