Norwood Man Arrested for Murder in Warrenton Domestic Shooting

WARRENTON, GA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is probing a homicide in Warrenton after a domestic dispute led to the fatal shooting of a woman. Charles Jeffery, 57, of Norwood, has been arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the death of Daphne Meyers, 38, of Warrenton.
Preliminary information indicates that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at about 3:30 a.m. on July 19, 2025, reporting a shooting at a home in the 200 block of Phelps Drive in Warrenton. Responding officers discovered that during a domestic dispute between Meyers and Jeffery, Jeffery allegedly shot Meyers. Meyers was found dead inside the home.
Meyers’ body will be transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Jeffery was booked into the McDuffie County Jail. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
