Newton County Jury Convicts Man on Multiple Child Sex Abuse Charges
Solomon Denham

COVINGTON, GA – A Newton County jury on Thursday, July 17, 2025, found Solomon Denham guilty of Rape, Aggravated Sexual Battery, Aggravated Child Molestation, and nine counts of Child Molestation. The charges involved two minor victims, one under 14 years of age and the other under 10.

The abuse reportedly occurred over several months in 2020 within Newton County. It was first reported in late 2021, with additional disclosures of abuse emerging as the investigation progressed.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Amber Dally, Deputy Chief Investigator Jill Lumpkin, Victim Advocate Madison Sanders, Trial Assistant Danielle Miller, and Legal Assistant Anna Sugg. The Covington Police Department handled the investigation and arrest. The victims received support services from A Child’s Voice Child Advocacy Center.

Following the verdict, the Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for a later date.

“I commend all those involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case. But justice could not have been obtained without the bravery of the survivors of this abuse to come forward and then come into court and testify about the Defendant’s actions,” authorities stated.
