Wrong-Way Chase on I-20 Ends in Crash and Manhunt Near Morgan County Line

GREENSBORO, GA – A vehicle pursuit that began with a traffic stop in Greene County escalated into a wrong-way chase on Interstate 20 and ended in a crash and manhunt on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a black Mercedes near the I-20 exit on South Main Street in Greensboro. The vehicle fled, leading deputies on a pursuit through Greensboro and into Siloam, where the suspects entered I-20 westbound in the eastbound lanes by using the shoulder of the road.

The pursuit continued back toward Greensboro and crossed into Morgan County, still traveling against traffic on I-20. The chase came to an end when the suspect vehicle crashed near the 118-mile marker.

Following the crash, multiple suspects fled on foot, prompting a manhunt by law enforcement. After an extensive search involving multiple agencies, all suspects were located and taken into custody.

Sheriff Donnie Harrison thanked the Greensboro Police Department, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, Madison Police Department, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Fire/Rescue, National EMS, Greene County E911, Morgan County 911 and GSP Dispatch, MCCD, and Jones County for their assistance.

The investigation into the pursuit and arrests remains ongoing.
