28-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Outside Augusta Gas Station
AUGUSTA, GA — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at The One Stop on Barton Chapel Road Thursday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 4:19 p.m. on July 10, 2025, following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they located the victim, identified as 28-year-old Raekwon Tyrell Brinson of Augusta, who had been shot at least once while standing in the doorway of the store.
Despite lifesaving efforts, Brinson was pronounced deceased on scene at 5:52 p.m. by Deputy Coroner John Rutland.
Brinson was a customer at the time of the incident. The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 706-821-1000.
