Four Sentenced to Federal Prison for Meth Trafficking Conspiracy in Macon

MACON, GA — Four defendants involved in a methamphetamine trafficking ring responsible for distributing kilogram quantities of meth and fentanyl-laced heroin in Macon were sentenced to federal prison on July 10, 2025.

  • Denzelle Diangelo Willis, 34, was sentenced to 278 months in prison followed by five years supervised release.
  • James Richard Fuller, 33, received a sentence of 181 months followed by five years supervised release.
  • Julio Cesar Mendez, aka “Migo,” 29, was sentenced to 135 months followed by five years supervised release.
  • Deion Jocoley Howard, 31, was sentenced to 53 months in prison followed by five years supervised release.

All previously pleaded guilty to charges related to conspiracy and distribution of methamphetamine. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge Marc Treadwell. There is no parole in the federal system.

The investigation began in November 2022 after DEA agents, assisted by the Bibb, Peach, and Monroe County Sheriff’s Offices, seized nearly eleven kilograms of methamphetamine connected to a separate drug trafficking case. Subsequent investigations revealed Willis and Mendez sold methamphetamine and fentanyl-tainted heroin across Macon.

Court-authorized wiretaps and surveillance showed Mendez maintained a stash house supplying methamphetamine and marijuana to street dealers. Howard acted as a broker connecting mid-level dealers and suppliers, while Fuller served as Willis’s courier transporting methamphetamine for distribution.

U.S. Attorney William R. “Will” Keyes and DEA Acting Special Agent in Charge Jae W. Chung emphasized the ongoing commitment to holding drug traffickers accountable and protecting communities from deadly substances.

The case was prosecuted by Criminal Chief Leah E. McEwen.
