Couple Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Macon; Drugs, Stolen Gun, and Children Found in Vehicle

MACON, GA – A male and female were taken into custody by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies following a high-speed chase that began in the Northwoods Plaza parking lot after witnesses reported a domestic dispute.

Deputies arrived on scene to find the couple in a pickup truck, which fled at high speed, reaching up to 70 mph. The pursuit ended on Riverside Drive near Corbin Drive, where deputies apprehended both individuals.

Inside the truck, deputies found two small children in the backseat, unharmed. A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, a glass pipe, a grinder, multiple loaded magazines and rounds of ammunition, and a stolen .380 caliber Ruger pistol that had been reported stolen by the Jemison Police Department in Alabama.

The children were released into the custody of a relative. The adult suspects remain under investigation by Bibb County authorities and two agencies in Alabama.
