Lee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Man for Questioning in Gas Station Shooting, Homicide
Markelvin Dentrell Hicks (Person of Interest) and Brenton Zaire Clay (arrested)

LEESBURG, GA – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is seeking public assistance in locating MARKELVIN DENTRELL HICKS, 22, of Dawson, GA. Hicks is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on July 2, 2025, at the Murphy USA gas station on Ledo Road.

Hicks is also identified as a person of interest in a homicide investigation being conducted by the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau. Along with JAQUAN MICHAEL MCINTYRE, 17, and JARROD DEONTAN WILLIAMS, 22, Hicks is a person of interest in the homicide of 19-year-old JAMARION KING.

Hicks is believed to be driving a blue, four-door Kia K5 with front-end damage and bullet holes on the rear of the vehicle.

Also involved in the Ledo Road gas station incident was BRENTON ZAIRE CLAY of Albany, GA, who was arrested on July 8, 2025, at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and charged with reckless conduct.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about Markelvin Dentrell Hicks’ whereabouts not to approach him but to immediately contact law enforcement.
