Carroll County Teen Charged in February Double Homicide of Mother and Stepfather

CARROLLTON, Ga. — On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of 17-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick in connection with the February 20 double homicide of her mother and stepfather.
Deputies responded to a residence at 1531 Carrollton Tyus Road on the morning of February 20, where they discovered the bodies of James Brock, 45, and Kristin Brock, 41, both dead from apparent gunshot wounds. A six-year-old girl, the youngest member of the household, reportedly found the victims.
Sarah Grace Patrick, who lived in the home at the time, was the one who initially called 911. Following an extensive investigation spanning nearly five months, Patrick was charged with two counts of Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault. She turned herself in on July 8 after being notified that warrants had been issued for her arrest. She was accompanied by her father.
Investigators say Sarah had been moving between homes since the incident. All family members interviewed have been cooperative, according to authorities.
Sheriff Terry Langley stated, “We know the public has been eager for answers, and we want to be clear… so have we. But bringing forth the truth responsibly and thoroughly is our highest obligation.”
Led by Investigator TJ Repetto, the case involved collaboration with the FBI, the GBI Crime Lab, and private forensic laboratories. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the case remains open, with additional arrests possible.
“Our prayers remain with the families of James and Kristin Brock, and especially with their young daughter who was at home during this horrific crime,” the department said in a statement.
Sarah is being charged as an adult. Authorities are still working to determine a motive.
