Walker County Meth Trafficker Sentenced to 20 Years After Seizure of Over 40 Ounces

Julie Abigail Manis has been sentenced to 20 years, with the first 10 to be served in prison, after being caught with more than 40 ounces of methamphetamine in a major drug bust conducted by the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force.

On November 4, 2024, DTF agents coordinated a controlled purchase involving Manis. Before the transaction could be completed, agents moved in and intercepted her, recovering three plastic bags containing over 40 ounces of meth, all packaged for distribution.

Manis was arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession with Intent to Distribute. She later pled guilty in Walker County Superior Court and was sentenced to 20 years, with 10 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Lynsay Chapman.
