Teen Arrested for Killing His Mother in Chatham County

The Chatham County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday night, June 29, 2025, where a 45-year-old woman died from multiple sharp force injuries. Her 15-year-old son has been arrested and charged with murder.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., Chatham County Police Department officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Berwick Lakes Boulevard following a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered the female victim suffering from what appeared to be multiple sharp force injuries. She died as a result of those injuries.

Officers arrested the victim’s 15-year-old son at the scene. He has been charged with murder and will be held in the Regional Youth Detention Center. Due to his age, his name is not currently being released.

Due to the sensitive nature of this incident, the Chatham County Police Department will not have any further comment on this case, nor will it release additional information.
