Marietta Police Link April Shootings, Arrest 5 in Gang-Related Incidents
Xavier Moreno

The Marietta Police Department’s Investigative Division has confirmed that two separate shooting incidents in April 2025 are related and has announced the arrests of a total of five individuals, including a juvenile, in connection with these “non-traditional hybrid neighborhood gang” disputes.

The first incident occurred on Saturday night, April 19, 2025, on Natchez Trace near Powder Springs Street. Four individuals were shot at while walking, resulting in one teenager being struck twice and transported to the hospital in critical condition. That victim is currently recovering.

The second shooting took place on Monday afternoon, April 21, 2025, on Allgood Road near North Marietta Parkway. Again, four individuals were targeted while walking, with two teenage victims sustaining serious injuries. Both teenagers are also recovering.

Following the Allgood Road shooting, Xavier Moreno, 17, was arrested and charged with eleven felonies and three misdemeanors. He remains in custody and has since been charged under the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Authorities can now confirm Moreno’s involvement in both shootings and that the incidents were between rival “non-traditional hybrid neighborhood gangs.” The names of the gangs are not being released due to concerns about encouraging further notoriety.

In connection with the Natchez Trace shooting on April 19, one juvenile and three adults have been arrested. They are:

  • Jemaaree Marion, 17, of Marietta
  • Jordan Almestica, 17, of Marietta
  • Isiah Sexton, 20, of Marietta

Each of these individuals, along with the juvenile, faces four felony charges of Aggravated Assault with Intent to Murder. The three adults have been booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, while the juvenile is in custody at the Cobb County Youth Detention Center.

Both investigations remain open, and additional charges may be added as they progress. Anyone with information is urged to contact MPD Detective Haas at 770-794-5477.
