Ashley Wilson

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged Nicholls Police Department Chief Ashley Wilson, 40, of Broxton, Georgia, with three counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of criminal attempt to commit child molestation, and violation of oath of office. Nicholls is a small community in Coffee County with approximately 2,900 residents.

The investigation began on Thursday, June 19, 2025, when the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI assistance regarding allegations of Wilson sending inappropriate text messages to a 15-year-old girl from Nicholls, GA. The text messages were discovered by the girl’s mother, who reported them to an officer with the Nicholls Police Department, who then escalated the incident to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.

The GBI’s investigation found that Wilson had sent text messages to the girl expressing a desire for a sexual relationship with her. Many of these messages were sent while Wilson was on duty as the Chief of Police for Nicholls, GA.

Wilson was taken into custody without incident and is currently booked in the Coffee County Jail. He is charged with three counts of enticing a child, one count of violation of oath of office and one count of conspiracy to commit child molestion.
